Allen "Cy" Chytracek

Allen “Cy” Chytracek, age 88, of Cannon Falls, died Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Cannon Rivers Senior Living.

Allen was born in Cannon Falls on April 20, 1935, the son of Albert and Margaret (Schiller) Chytracek. He was a lifelong resident of Cannon Falls, attending Cannon Falls High School. Following school, Cy worked as a truck driver for most of his career, and also had been in sales. In 1955, he was married to Joan Miller. They later were divorced. On November 18, 1982 Allen married Ione Lappi. As a youth, Cy attended St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls.

Cy was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing.  He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Cy and Ione enjoyed time they spent on Mille Lacs Lake.

Survivors include his children Robin (Spencer) Stewart, Kathy (Todd) Swanson, and Jay (Donna) Chytracek; step-children Cheryl (Jim) Goettig, Steve Lappi, and Vicki (Dan) Teske; grandchildren Shelly (Craig) Ritz, Katie (Danny) Meyers, Cory (Eve) Friesen, Cody Chytracek, Angie (Cody) Henry, Aaron (Courtney) Stewart, Megan (fiancé Jake Armstrong) Johnson, Madison (Mike) Herrell, Carson Chytracek, and Tyler Chytracek; step-grandchildren Ashley Lappi, Olivia Teske, and Jesse Goettig; brother Dana Chytracek;  many great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Cy was preceded in death by his wife Ione, son Bret Chytracek, his parents,  sisters Mary and Patty, and brothers Eugene and Jerry.

A memorial gathering will be held at the V. F. W. in Cannon Falls on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 3-6:00 pm, and Interment will be in the Cannon falls Cemetery in the Spring. Lundberg Funeral Home is assisting the family, and online condolences are welcome at www.LundbergFuneral.com.
