Adolph Haberman

January 13, 1926 — March 17, 2009

Adolph Haberman, age 83 of Cannon Falls, died on Tuesday afternoon, March 17, 2009 at the Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls.

Adolph was born on January 13, 1926 in Becker, MN, the son of Fred and Emma (Hamacher) Haberman.  He married Florence Goodwater on April 24, 1954 in Elk River, and they had six children.  They later divorced in 1977.

Adolph served for 15 months in France with the US Army from May 27, 1954 until his honorable discharge on May 8, 1956.

They resided in Becker, and Adolph worked in Big Lake at the Imperial Service Station.  In March, 1968 they moved to Cannon Falls, where he managed the Imperial for 17 years.  He later returned to work (now called Apco) part-time until retiring in 1991.

Adolph loved stock car racing, and his trips to Las Vegas!  In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Adolph was a member of the Becker American Legion Post #193.

He is survived by his children, Allen (Pam Maurer) Haberman of Big Lake, David (Ginevive) Haberman, Kenneth Haberman, June (John) Christensen, and Sheila (Jim) Regenscheid, all of Cannon Falls, and Sharon (Brad) Waits of Zumbrota; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Marcella McCalla of Apple Valley, Alice Hoffman of Anoka, Flora (William) Gavin of Becker, Lewis (Barb Bonin) of Brainerd, and Shirley (Darrell) Olson of Becker; sister-in-law, Thelma Haberman of Big Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Emma Haberman; brothers, Ernest, Herman, Robin, Arnold, and Ray Haberman; and sisters, Emma Boese and Eva Jones.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Spring Garden Lutheran Church, 10239 Co 1 Blvd, Cannon Falls, with Pastors Nick and Cindy Fisher-Broin officiating.

Interment with military honors will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Becker Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls.  There will also be visitation at the church on Friday from 9-10 a.m.

Active pallbearers will be sons, Allen, David and Kenneth Haberman, and sons-in-law, John Christensen, Jim Regenscheid, and Brad Waits.
