Neal Harris Henderson passed away May 6, 2021, in Northfield, Minnesota. He was born January 28, 1940, in Halstad, Minnesota, to Harris and Rhoda Henderson. He attended Halstad Public Schools and graduated from North Dakota State University with a major in Agricultural Economics. His banking career was mostly in Ag Lending. He began his career in Cavalier, North Dakota, working for Production Credit Association and concluded it at Delavan State Bank in Delavan, Minnesota. He also worked for Cannon Equipment just before retiring.
Neal married Linda Berg from Perley, Minnesota, and they raised two daughters, Jennifer (Joe) Lompart of Northfield, Minnesota, and Stacy (Mark) Abbott of Pilot Point, Texas. He has four grandchildren, Rodin and Clara Lompart and Christian and Henry Abbott. Neal was a Renaissance Man. When he was twenty-one years old, he toured Europe by himself on a Rabeneick motorbike that he purchased while there. He enjoyed the American Quarter Horse, mostly through his daughters' efforts, coursing Afghan Hounds, raising tropical fish, camping, biking, studying the history and assassination of JFK, western art—especially Remington—collecting antiques, farming, and traveling. His last passion was Ancestry.com. At the time of his death, he had created 275,955 entries and 49,895 photographs. Neal is preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Rhoda, and his younger brother, Greg (Julie) Henderson. Besides his immediate family, he leaves behind his brother, Mark (Maxine) Henderson of Moorhead, Minnesota, and his two sisters, Nan Henderson Lopatka of Hudson, Wisconsin, and Dana (Arlan) Larson of Climax, Minnesota.
