Jean Blanche (Lundell) Duden, age 79 of Red Wing and formerly of Cannon Falls, died at her home on Sunday afternoon, February 11, 2018.
Jean was born the youngest of six children to Rutherford and Blanche (Lindell) Lundell on September 28, 1938 in Red Wing. She was a lifelong member of St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1956.
She married Curtis Duden on June 1, 1957 and was a homemaker, raising four children. She enjoyed working in the lunch program at the Cannon Falls Schools, so she could see her grandchildren. Jean loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to dress up at Halloween, enjoyed watching the Cannon Falls Bears, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Curt; children, Pam (Ken) Pagel, Rayleen Duden, and Jodi Duden-Clare (Dean Clare), all of Cannon Falls, and Gary (Sue) Duden of Nerstrand; 8 grandchildren, Brendon (Shelly) Pagel, Theron (Robyn) Pagel, Taylor (Mindi) Pagel, Jenae (Josh) Marthey, Heather (Eric) Otto, Bryce (Triina Barr) Hauck, Brock (Holly Metty) Duden, and Aaron Duden; 15+ great-grandchildren, Landon, Noah, Henry, Stella, Miley, Cooper, Vincent, Clark, Lydia, Macy, Talan, Logan, Brynnly, Hayden, Max, and baby boy Hauck due in April 2018; brothers, Melvin (Donna) Lundell and Dale Lundell, all of Cannon Falls; sister-in-law, Ione Lundell of Cannon Falls; brother-in-law, Floyd Budensiek of Cannon Falls; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Lundell; and sisters, Elaine Nelson and Regina Budensiek.
Visitation and funeral will be held at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, 7459 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls. Visitation will be Thursday, February 15 from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be on Friday, February 16 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brendon, Theron, and Taylor Pagel, Bryce Hauck, Brock Duden, and Aaron Duden. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Heather Otto and Jenae Marthey.
Per Jean's request, memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to St. Ansgar's Cemetery, Cannon Valley Senior Center, and Haven of Hope Safe Home in Red Wing.
