Edith Marie "Dolly" Quale, age 81 of Cannon Falls, died on Monday morning, May 16, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Dolly was born on March 25, 1930 in Leon Township, the daughter of Myron and Viola (Stafford) Wangen. She was a lifelong active member of First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, where she was baptized and confirmed. Dolly married Luther Quale on June 6, 1959 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She enjoyed cooking, collecting recipe books, gardening, feeding and watching wild birds. She will be remembered most for her love of family! She truly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of nearly 52 years, Luther; seven children, Larry (Wendy) Aamodt of Cannon Falls, Steve Aamodt (Dawn Anderson) of Rosemount, Carlyn (Tom) Schramske, Shelby (Jim) Ekstrom, and Kim (Rich) Howden, all of Cannon Falls, Lauri (Rod) DuBois of Manchester, Maine, and Sue Quale of Cannon Falls; 17 grandchildren, Clayton (Kirsten) Aamodt, Kirstan Aamodt, Kari Tennessen, Jenny, Jessy and Jamie Anderson, Jen Burton, Geron (Becky) Schramske, Jesse Ekstrom, Aaron (Jill) Ekstrom, Arica Ekstrom, Shannon, Melissa and Rick Howden, Matthew DuBois, Shannon (Patrick) Daniel, and Nick (Jessica) DuBois; 16 great-grandchildren, Russell, Cheyenne, Sierra, Kaiden, Alex, Aria, Dylan, Brittany, Kiley, Laney, Hailey, Hayden, Avery, Carter, Madeleine and Julia; one great-great-granddaughter, Addisen; sister, Judy (Bob) Iverson of St. Paul Park; aunt, Dorothy Walker of Cannon Falls; uncle, Al Thorpe of Cross Lake; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jason Aamodt; and brother, LaVerne (Carol Ann) Wangen. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, with Pastors Phillip Ruud and Daniel Forsgren officiating. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to donor's choice. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Clayton Aamodt, Geron Schramske, Jesse and Aaron Ekstrom, Rick Howden and Matthew DuBois, and great-grandson, Alex Aamodt. Honorary pallbearers will be the remaining grandchildren, Kirstan Aamodt, Kari Tennessen, Jenny, Jessy and Jamie Anderson, Jen Burton, Arica Ekstrom, Shannon and Melissa Howden, Shannon Daniel and Nick DuBois.
